COVID19 Unusual Times: May 18th Update

Telehealth appointments are available.

I want you to know that your health is my top priority.

Both Compsych EAP and Morneau Shepell EAP are covering Teleheath.  At this time, many Blue Cross Blue Shield of Texas plans cover Telehealth. You will need to call the Member Services number on the back of your card to find out if your specific plan will cover Telehealth. I am willing to meet briefly online for you to see what it is like to use the platform and determine if you would like to use the service.

Please let me know if you would like to meet using a secure video appointment. We would use the Simple Practice Platform for Teleheath. If you have a webcam and microphone on your laptop or computer is as easy as clicking a link I send prior to our appointment time. Using your phone only requires that you download the Telehealth by Simple Practice mobile app. I prefer meeting with you face to face but during this period of social distancing I value this option. Please call or text 512-947-0672 to let me know if you would like to meet using Telehealth.

Research shows that video sessions can be just as effective as in-person appointments, and we can continue your care without interruption. Let me know if you’re interested and sign the Consent for Telehealth form through the portal. Please refer to the CDC’s dedicated 2019-ncov website for additional information, and maintain awareness by checking the official communications from the Centers for Disease Control and World Health Organization.

With the increasing uncertainty and growing number of infected individuals around the world, I encourage you to take responsibility for yourself and your family. Though the risk remains low, it’s important to take a proactive approach to minimize exposure.

  • If you’ve recently been in any airport, please wait 14 days before coming in for an appointment.

  • If you or someone close to you has recently traveled to or from Iran, South Korea, China, or Italy, we insist you postpone booking an appointment until further notice. If this applies to you, please inform me via email, and I’ll put you on a dedicated wait-list for an appointment.

  • If you’re exhibiting symptoms of respiratory illness, I urge you to stay home, take care of yourself, and seek medical help when appropriate.

Take care, stay safe but please remain connected!

Cindi Leveridge, MA, LPC
